SERRA SALT PROCESSING LINE IN AFGHANISTAN

Serra manufactured and delivered a new salt washing and refining line with a capacity of 10 tons per hour in Afghanistan. The project was carried out for a local salt producer aiming to significantly enhance the quality of their product and increase their production efficiency through advanced technology.

The client entrusted Serra to develop a fully automated and customized salt processing solution adapted to their raw salt characteristics and final market demands. The raw salt, sourced from inland salt deposits, presented moderate purity but with high levels of insoluble impurities and moisture, which made processing a key factor in upgrading the product to food-grade standards.

To address these challenges, Serra implemented its advanced three-stage washing system, which includes washer cells, washer classifier, and a two-stage pusher centrifuge. This configuration effectively removes both soluble and insoluble impurities, achieving high levels of purity suitable for human consumption and industrial applications.

Following the washing process, the salt undergoes controlled crushing, drying using our high-efficiency fluid bed dryer-cooler, and particle size classification via a precision sieve screen. The final product is divided into fine table salt and coarse industrial salt.
