SERRA INSTALLS NEW SALT PROCESSING LINE IN INDONESIA

Serra Salt Machinery has successfully completed the installation and commissioning of a new salt washing and refining plant in Indonesia, dedicated to processing local raw salt. This project is a key step forward in helping local producers transform low-quality raw salt into a clean, high-value product for both human consumption and industrial use.

Complete Salt Washing System for Local Raw Salt

The plant is designed to process 15 tons per hour of raw salt extracted from regional sources. Due to the presence of impurities and moisture, Serra engineered a comprehensive washing line that ensures deep cleaning and purification of the salt before it enters the refining phase.

This robust washing system guarantees the removal of insoluble materials and contaminants, producing a final product that meets the strictest food-grade and industrial standards.

Flexible Post-Washing Process

After washing and centrifugation, the refined wet salt can follow one of two paths:

  • Packed directly into big bags for bulk industrial use
  • Transferred to the refining section, which includes:
    • Crushing, for reducing salt crystals
    • Drying in a fluid bed dryer specially designed for drying salt
    • Screening, for classifying the different products
    • Final packaging in consumer or industrial formats

This modular setup offers the client the ability to adapt production according to market demand and packaging requirements.

Custom Engineering with Local Focus

Serra’s team collaborated closely with the client throughout the project, from raw salt analysis to plant commissioning. The result is a facility that not only processes challenging raw material efficiently but also does so with low operational cost, high reliability, and consistent product quality.
